You corrupted the hdd when you switched it off. You can try booting into dos, formatting and re initialising. If that doesn't work you're gonna need a new hdd.

    It won't even let me get as far as the start up screen, let alone long enough for me to get into DOS...(and I have no experience with that kind of stuff anyway. Id totally just ruin it more...)

  • You need another computer to make a boot disc and there are instructions online on how to do such things.
