Yes you can. Watch a ship sail away. If the world was flat, you be able to see it for a very very long distance. But since the earth curves, it disappears beyond said curve of the earth.
It's not true that the ship doesn't fade from your view? You could use binoculars or a telescope and the boat would still disappear from view because the earth is round.
Want another way to tell the earth is round, better yet, prove its spherical? (I know it's not a perfect sphere) during an eclipse (or solar eclipse, I'm not sure) the earth shadow is projected on the moon. The shadow is round. [spoiler]checkm8[/spoiler]
