Why are people so Butthurt about "Gimmicks?"
Gimmicks are fun to play along to. Its an Internet forum where people can be who or whatever they want. This "wort" phase is no different from the "Jolly" phase or the "Spooky" phase. None of them are hurting you yet you get so Butthurt over nothing.
And on tops of that, people say the only way to get popular on here is with a gimmick. Big deal. Why do you want to be popular on a video game developers subforum? Do you amount to that little that you need this? Just make a gimmick if you need to be popular that bad.
And remember; less QQ, more pew pew.

Trying to become known on a forum is pathetic enough. If you're gunna try by gimmicks, then for the love of God, at least be funny. If you're doing it for fun, then whatever. Do what you enjoy. But I don't see how copy/pasting something worthless every time you post is any more fun than not.

If I start noticing the same gimmick over and over from someone, I simply mute them if I find it annoying. Not necessarily "butt hurt" about it but I don't understand the appeal.

Wort isn't a big deal because it's just a dumb word that got spread around like a wild fire and people like you made it a big deal. That's a statement that can be said to be true fr just about any gimmick. dam u str8 bby grl was a funny meme until it got overused and just annoying. Take for instance the "mere exposure effect". The mere exposure effect is a psychological term that is described as basically, the more you are exposed to something, the more you are attached to it. That means your feelings for it are stronger, Therefore naturally, people like us will shun the idea of gimmicks, whereas people like you will cling on to it.
