I love how everyone just blames xbox fanboys for bringing down the score instead of accepting the fact that maybe some people just don't like the game. I personally don't know why those user ratings are different, it's strange. All I can think of is people just aren't enjoying it as much as critics. But who also compares their opinion to others? If you enjoy a game you enjoy a game despite what other people or critics say.

  • Fewer people playing DOOM, expectation were low, it's not tied into the console war stuff, and just generally isn't a polarizing game like a Call of Duty.

  • I get what you mean, but somebody told me a while back on one of my posts that he saw two of the exact same 0/10 reviews but under different accounts. This screams nothing but fanboy. Would be cool if people just move on if they don't enjoy something or be happy if they do. Unfortunately there are some sad, sad people who actually waste time trashing a game that they do not like. I thought I'd check Halo 5 to see if there was a similar thing happening as it is a huge exclusive for xbox and I was right, there was. Just shows that fanboys are out to trash each others games. We already knew that but it's just sad.

It's a waste of time for those people, I just don't get it. Scores do not sway me to buy a game or ignore it. I'll read reviews but ignore the bias and focus on what I might like about the game.

  • same with me. Division is a good example. Although I haven't played it in a while, I enjoyed it despite the bad reviews. Halo 5 is another good example, while I do not find it amazing it's no where near as bad as some make out. Finally there is Doom. I know you and many others here have really enjoyed it and it does sound good but every time I watch gameplay I'm put off by it. Doesn't make it a bad game, just not for me. A fanboy on the other hand would be here trashing it 24/7.

  • Exactly, to each their own. But it seems most of the gaming community tends to like or dislike games based on review scores. People will trash a game because it gets average reviews, or praise a game with great reviews just because. Quantum break, Halo 5, and doom I find to be excellent games personally. I would probably rate them all close to 9/10 despite what the reviewers say. I find enjoyment in them and that's all that matters.
