I am THE Unluckiest Player in This Game. (Vent)
And no, I'm not kidding. My Hunter has ranked up 12 times for Crucible/Vanguard since the April update, all in search of those elusive snipers that I have Year One versions of already, I don't know why I can't just ascend them to Y2 but whatever. Anyway, I have received TEN F**KING PIECES OF SPEKTAR ARMOUR. My Warlock has ranked up 4 times, I have received another 3 pieces of Spektar armour. My weapons (if you can believe I actually got any) have been
1) An absolutely terrible roll Antipodal Hindsight
2) An absolutely terrible Badger CCL
3) A Zombie Apocalypse WF47 machine gun with GUERRILLA FIGHTER, a perk that literally requires me to sit behind what little, buggy cover is in this game while everyone else in the lobby runs around with rocket launchers.
I don't know, sometimes it feels like the game is just weighted to give you absolute trash to get you to stop playing. Anyone have any worse luck or does the game just literally hate me? Because I've just about had enough of this. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't get armour literally 80% of the time and could actually get decent weapons, but whatever. I'm going back to play more Rocket League.

I had a break from destiny came back last week first crucible rank up and bang longbow! And 4 bits of taken gear.

I lvl I think around 35 ranks and got 1 longbow and 1 ldr.... And both with shitty perks or scopes

Vet here with same problem. Only got 1 piece of Taken gear, lucky the one I wanted. Haven't got the longbow nor LDR Y2 Versions

1 Reply12? 12!? ONLY 12!? I've opened 25+ crucible packages and have gotten one longbow with partial refund and mulligan with crap scopes! And I've opened 5+ vanguards and got no LDR meanwhile my friend who never plays opens his very first crucible package after update and gets a shortgaze/ambush QuickDraw/snapshot last resort hidden hand longbow.. I swear there's a trend with the noobier you are the better sniper you'll get

The trick is to not expect it haha. I ranked up my vanguard one day, and opened it without even thinking and remembering that I could get an LDR from it. And what do you think I got? An LDR. ._.

At least you're getting weapons. I've upgraded HoJ 6 times, per character. And I've gotten a class item each....f#cking....time.... vanguard keeps giving me lame armor.

Luck has nothing to do with it. I know you've heard that before but usually from someone with lots of nice things that have to do with RNG. I've done math, rough math, but I got results on the chances I have of getting the Zen Meteor with 3oC. It's depressing and abysmal. Less than a percent using 2 three of coins and assuming the first one failed. I'm thinking about writing a topic on it explaining the math. Keep trying, have fun, best of luck to you!
