Since it's the end of the school year everyone is starting to pick what classes they want to have for the next year. I've always been big into computers from building them to programming them. I'm not very good at programming computers so when I saw the class in the booklet full of classes I could take, I wrote it down. I read further after the first sentence and it was perfect until I got to the bottom. It said,
This class is only offered to females
What? Why is this even a thing? What's the logic behind making a computer programming class female only? I'm confused as to why this isn't deemed as discrimination and is seen as socially acceptable.
I'm having real difficulty believing this is real. There's no reason a ladies-only computer class should exist.
Either your school is doing some real -blam!-ery, or you're making this up to play up the "oh, poor me" theme

Its a very real thing. Here is a dissertation defending it in 2010. It is ridiculously long but if you read the intro it argues that a test class of all women was more beneficial to women than a mixed class. Again long pages 9-10 give the summary http://www.csta.acm.org/Research/sub/Projects/ResearchFiles/Drobnis_Dissertation.pdf Here is an article talking about the launch of an all female high school engineering class. http://m.jsonline.com/business/kewaskum-high-school-launches-all-female-engineering-class-b99101148z1-224720152.html Don't know the source very well but it does seem to be legitimate.
