I think you and I have very different memories of HoW. 1. The lack of meta in the crucible and especially Thorn. All the god rolls thanks to reforging. Then back to bitching about Thorn. 2. Prison of Elders. The poor loot drops, lack of checkpoints, repetitiveness and it's fractioning of solid raid groups. 3. Talking of raids, the endless bitching there wasn't one. 4. The general ranting of HoWs "screwing our wallets over" because of the lack of content. 5. Trials of Osiris and how "all the PvPers got better weapons than us" 6. Lag switching became commonplace thanks to aforesaid ToO. Even after a year it's funny how things change.....

agreed, and while i begrudgingly have to agree with the complainers on #5 considering it was 40 times easier to put up with the lag and find a group of try hards for trials than that bullet sponge boss slog called 33 and 34 PoE with their garbage rewards, there was a ton of retarded conspiracy theory BS about how bungie was lying to everyone just to run some kind of extortion scam and about how they intentionally ruin PvP and all sorts of other nonsense. all that on top of the balancing issues in both PvP and PvE and the general elitist exclusionary try-hardy nature of the community at the time HoW was not a fun ride for everyone... honestly, i don't know if i find it hilarious or sad how many historical revisionists rant on this forum about "the good ol days".

  • Definitely rose colored glasses. That era was the least diverse and most irritating crucible has ever been. It was all thorn, tlw, hawkmoon, shotguns and blink shotgun. That's it.

  • Some of us were the exception to that rule. For a long time I avoided using pretty much all of those weapons you listed there until the Thorn usage got so bad in regular crucible (were 6 man teams all using Thorns). For a long time I used a Pocket Infinity, MIDA (I laugh at people that use them now), and special weapons like Final Rest II or an LDR. I hated Thorn users as I found that weapon to be a crutch for poor players.
