That's incorrect. The study talked about groups of people judging BS statements as profound, not calling BS statements for what they are. According to the study authors, conservative participants were far more likely to find BS statements profound than liberal participants were. Clinton and O'Malley supporters found mundane statements profound more than conservatives and Bernie supporters did. That's where OP is drawing his claim that conservatives are more gullible from. However, there's a comment linking to a blog post that takes the data samples from the study and comes to a completely different conclusion than the study authors apparently did.
