I'm thinking we should I get a list of what we want to cover. I'm thinking we should I cover at least the following:
-General post for each non-human race (Awoken, Exo, Cabal, Vex, Fallen, and Hive) covering their morphology, culture, and history.
-Each Raid (VoG, CE, and KF) with an explanation of how the mechanics trashed to lore where applicable, what the enemy was trying accomplish, and any side information deemed important.
-The Weapons of Sorrow
-Osiris
-Toland
-Six Fronts and Twilight Gap
-The nature of the Light and the Darkness
-The 3 Factions with seats in the Consensus
-Rasputin/The Collapse
I should I be able to do the "Light and Darkness" post and the VoG post. I'm sure I didn't hit everything we should get to so does anyone else have suggestions on what we should cover?

What about the Trinity Star Cult??
-
There's not much on them, so I'll just explain it here. The Trinary Star Cult is a small faction within the City that believes the Traveler is either evil and led the Darkness here OR that it is just using us as a proxy army to fight off the Darkness. We can see from the Books of Sorrow and the Alpha Lupi series that this is not the case.
-
If we have space, we should think about including a summary on the factions. FWC, New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, the Concordant, and the Vanguard. I feel like you should be the one to write this Saint, since from our various discussions we've had about these faction, you have a lot of valid points to say about them.
-
Rasputin/the Collapse. Everything. This is very fundamental to understanding the game.
-
We have that covered.

Edited by Sportsfreak5022: 5/8/2016 3:17:26 AMYou should cover part of the reef wars and skolas as it reveals what little knowledge we have of the nine and it's important to understand the awoken and their motives. You should probably cover some of the exotic weapon/armor lore, just because some people will be interested in it. Also not dealing with the Vex origin/culture directly, the Vex grimoire cards are pretty important lore wise, it shows their effects on people, important insight on Exos and it really ties together the base games story. If you want me to type up some posts on these topics I will, I know there are already several good posts on exotic weapons so we could link those. Also a member of Collective of Knowledge

The Reef Wars and the HoW storyline can probably be combined into one. We are doing exotic weapons and armor. In fact, we already have a couple good authors with posts covering this subject. As for helping out, I would private message Saint 14 about it seeing as he is the one that has bits of the master post saved on his computer.

Were will we be able to find this posts. Someone on here had a thought that lore should have it's own forum, while it's a great idea we can't simply make one. Also got a silly question. What is orxys true self as in, in the story when we face him he's as tall as one of the shades. However in the raid he seems to be 30 feet tall, hovering behind the room in which we fight him. So which is his true self or height?
-
Depends what you mean by "true self." His physical form is what we see in the campaign. When he manifests in the mortal world this is how he appears according to our laws of the universe. Within his Throne World the laws of reality are dictated by Sword Logic rather than physics. As a result he appears in a form as big and powerful as Sword logic says he is.
-
You nailed what I was asking on the head. Cuz this us what u always wondered. In campaign and in the cut scenes he is let's say 10 ft tall but in the throne he is say 100 ft tall. I was wondering which was truly him. So basically he is 100 ft tall because we are essentially in his "world" the throne room which is dictated by sword logic cool. This post is epic and very helpful already!

Edited by The Muzzy98: 5/8/2016 3:04:39 AMIt will be able to be found in the #lore tag. (This post is under the lore tag as well.) We'll also add a link to it to this thread once the post is complete. Oryx's "true self" would be the one you face in the raid as he is in his Throne World and can do things there that he cannot do in the material world.
-
I really would like to know the whole Traveler/Rasputin relationship if that can be added.
-
Don't worry, we already have a post covering that.

Edited by Qwurxty: 5/8/2016 6:00:19 PMI've created a general post for cabal https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/203315911/0/0

What about the rank of Val? Is it the same as Bracus or is it more than a Bracus but less than a Valus?
-
Edited by Qwurxty: 5/8/2016 5:59:33 PMI've put a slightly revised version in the group forums, feel free to comment there.

A summary of the books of sorrow for dummies
-
I'm working on it. It's going to be split into five parts: one for each book.
-
-
Do we want to have a section just linking other good posts and theories that might be unrelated? Such as Rasputin posts, Sol Progeny posts, various exotic weapon posts, etc?
-
Depends. I think we should definitely link some prominent theories, like link Anon and Kage's home pages for example big certain topics are already covered in a way we like we should I link those too. I can think of two posts off the top of my head, a ToM and a Titan Orders one.
