This is a joke. That weapon is still an annoyance and it'll never be balanced. They've nerfed it how many times? Still see that thing in Crucible wrecking players.

u didn't read the post, did u?

Until something is done about the sheer impact of that weapon, it'll never be ok. People for some reason find the burn the problem when it's really hardly a factor compared to the above average mix of impact, range, stability, and fire rate. I read your crumy post. Even the pointless half that was all ascetic aspects. (Looks cool, classic weapon, familier)
-
u really didn't read the post. if you did, you'd have notice i want it changed to the high-impact/low-RoF class of hand cannon. and the hell are you talking about, above average impact? the thorn has the lowest impact rating of hand cannons. (word of crota style.) its range, stability, reload and magazine are all average. i don't know if you ever used hand cannons, but from someone who does, it's base stats are nothing special.
-
Edited by StormStoopid: 5/8/2016 4:38:38 PMBase stats mean absolutely nothing in this game. Look at TFC and Lord High Fixer. Severely different base stats, practically no difference in their actual gameplay. Both 3 shot kills.
-
Low Impact/High RoF hand cannons (WoC) kill in 2 headshots and one bodyshot. (3 hit kill at best, 5 hit kill at worst.) They have a high RoF, so they can land shots faster, resulting in a faster TTK. High Impact/Low RoF hand cannons (TFC) kill in 1 headshot and 2 bodyshots. (always a 3 hit kill.) The First Curse has extremely low RoF, so landing shots takes much more time. Time someone with a high or mid-RoF hand cannon could be landing those 3 shots and taking you out. The TTK is slow as hell, with extreme damage overkill. Base perks make a hell of a difference. Also, if they don't, why were you complaining about Thorn's "above average mix of impact, range, stability, and fire rate"?
-
Because what it says, and what the reality of in-game is, do not mean anything.
-
yeah they do. plus, I'm not just basing it off PD's armory and the in-game stats, I'm basing it off use. Thorn's range, stability and impact are nothing special. Other Year One hand cannons left it in the dust, and Year Two hand cannons are equal, with some being even better. (Eyasluna and Ace of Spades.)
-
Just not true. Thorn has been left behind for a damn good reason. That thing still existing at all in crucible today is a problem. You know why it has such a desire to come back? It was cheap. It still is cheap. That's how this multi-player community functions. They think snipers didn't need nerfs and the Doctrine is completely fair game.
-
Edited by Nemesis X 325: 5/8/2016 5:13:06 PMI agree. Thorn was BS. But only because of the DoT. Without it, it's just a Word of Crota with a cool reskin. But if you read the post like you claim to have, you'd know the changes I would have made. Like no DoT, different impact class and binary final perks. P.S. The sniper nerfs were uncalled for. They should've reduced speed special ammo drops in Crucible instead of crippling reserve ammo in PvE.

I can't even do it anymore, you're so clueless it hurts
-
Yes, I'm so clueless because I know how hand cannons work. You, on the other hand, think The First Curse is equal to Lord High Fixer because they're both 3-shot kills.
-
In realistic terms, yes.
-
I just face-palmed so hard, my hand went through my head. With that logic, Machine Guns are inferior to Hand Cannons because Hand Cannons kill in three shots and LMGs kill in 6 or more. Low RoF hand cannons take a long time to kill someone, and forgive body shots. Fast RoF hand cannons take faster time to kill someone, assuming you have good accuracy. Low RoF hand cannons suck because while you're slowly shooting at them, they've already killed you.
