So I'm just going to put this out there. IT'S NOT INDIVIDUALS WITH POOR INTERNET CONNECTION CAUSING LAG. The real issue is shitty networking code. Plain and simple. How many of you pay for high speed Internet only to still red bar sometimes in Crucible? I know I do. There is not another online shooter out there that has such bad issues with latency. Considering that most online shooters largely share the same player base, if the lag we experience in Destiny is not affecting other online shooters, it's clear to me that the issue is bungie's shitty networking code. Blame is not on you as the end user and never should be.
Bungie uses P2P for PVP. You are not actually playing the game on their servers. The servers only house the playlists and game parameters. The 'host' box largely determines the latency.

 • So what you are saying is exactly what I am saying. It's not our individual internet connections, it's shitty networking code.

 • No he is saying something different. Network code isnt shitty. The way they set up the game is shitty. Not the code itself.

 • Yeah but have you seen the code? Are you a software engineer and can tell good code from shitty? Not calling you out here, I am a web developer, not a software engineer so I really would not know either. The wording of "Shitty networking code" may not have been optimal to express my point in the original post. Simply saying shitty networking and leaving code out of it maybe would have been better. Either way, the point of this post is that it is not our fault for the lag. But it does seem to be that the blame gets placed on us.

 • Uhm this is happening since halo 2. It has been a shitty setup when they decided to use p2p connections for gaming.
