Sadly I barely hear white jokes and things like "this is the whitest thing to say/song/movie ever" can be kind of funny but never offending

It depends. If the joke is well placed and used at the correct time I would actually laugh. However if it's overused and used at an inconvenient time then I would be annoyed. Ex.1- I'm half asian mind this. I post a picture of my dog on IG. One of my friends writes a comment saying "I ain't coming over for dinner if that's what you're serving me." Lol its used appropriately so thumbs up." Ex.2- I'm at a board meeting discussing statistics for my companies marginal revenue. My boss asks me to draw out an exact calculation. I get it right. Everyone at the board is impressed and someone goes "Nice job you smart asian." Inappropriately timed and he got written up.

Very often no, but I went a to private school and I hated when the stupid white boys made jokes or repeatedly asked the Asians (like me) if we ate dog. Personally I never have, but some of my family actually did because they were too poor to eat anything else.

Depends. If the person making them is a different race than me, and they get offended if I make a racist joke, well... That'd be a problem.

And even if they're made with ill-intent, I understand that the negative feelings behind them are likely based on negative past experiences or beliefs instilled in that person's youth. As long as the situation doesn't escalate to physical violence, I usually try to handle said negativity with a positive approach that might create a more healthy understanding.

If they're jokes then you shouldn't get offended, it's when they're not joking and being serious that you should be.
