Reasons to dislike Berno
1. You dislike helping others
2. You think socialism is bad, but still drive on public roads
3. You don't have a basic understanding that he's a socio-capitalist, as in he's not taking over means of production.
4. You think he'll die in office, despite many people living into their 90s nowadays
5. You still buy into red scare propaganda (not your fault, your parents shouldn't have been idiots and fed you it)

If I wanted to help others, I'd donate to a charity, not get the government to take everyone's money regardless of whether they're ok with it and filter it through a mess of inefficient bureaucracy to "help" someone into being dependent on the government.
-
Socio-capitalist? Bernie's a social democrat.
-
He's socio-capitalist because he's only advocating for social programs. A key part of socialism is total government control of resources and production. He hasn't advocated for that at all.
-
Then he's not a Socialist.
-
I don't think I called him a socialist. I just said he supports social programs.
-
That's fine. But social programs aren't necessarily Socialist. That's the point I'm trying to make

Edited by freeRadical16: 5/1/2016 12:25:57 PMWhat do public roads have to do with Socialism?
-
Edited by LowIQPlayz3445: 5/1/2016 1:33:56 PMIt's a government funded program designed to improve quality of living.
-
Edited by freeRadical16: 5/1/2016 5:48:00 PMThat's not Socialism. Public goods provided by the state though taxes is not Socialism.
-
It's part of a social program. Thereby socialist.
-
Who owns the means of production in the US?
-
https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/about/ As far as roads and highways go, the government for the most part.
-
Where do they get the asphalt from? The vehicles and equipment?
-
Government funded
-
Again, what does that have to do with Socialism?
-
No such thing as government funded.
-
Tax money funded. Better?
-
Edited by freeRadical16: 5/1/2016 11:55:26 PMDoesn't make him a Socialist.
-
What exactly do you think socialism is?
-
Socialism is State ownership and control of the means of production and distribution of goods.
-
Complete or partial? Because you seem to be referring to communism
-
Communism is common ownership of thy means of production. Socialism is State ownership of the means of production. Capitalism is private ownership of the means of production.
-
Tax payer funded. But yeah, better.
-
Public goods provided by the state though taxation is not Socialism.
-
That is litterally what socialism is
