I promise it gets easier. When I broke up with my girlfriend of 2.5 years, I felt like shit. It made me do stupid things and over react (ended up making it much worse and drove my friends away)
But after a few weeks, I started going out with my friends again regularly, took my mind of things, talked to new people, started to sleep regularly again
Few months later, I started dating other people again. I still had reoccurring dreams where we got back together, which really hurt when I woke up and realised it didn't happen. But eventually the feelings completely wore off, I started to see why we broke up, what the problems where.
It all made me a much Better person in the long run, not gonna make the mistakes that got me there again.
I'm living with my current girlfriend now and things are great. I have my regrets but I wouldn't change anything, because you gotta have those low points in order to find a new way back up.
