With the weekly update yesterday. The future for destiny was given a brief preview and this is what was said.
The next point on the horizon is an update we’re cooking up for the Fall. I’ve seen it. I’m excited about it. I will say no more… For now.
Hopefully, the ramp up to the April Update served up some proof that we love speaking at length about new Destiny content, once it arrives at its final form. Later on this summer, we’ll show you the scope, scale, and flavor for the next challenge you’ll face.
Fall starts in late September....April update has given the players so little that was worth a damn. And if you think this update was a "great amount of content for a free update". Do you really think its over 5 more months worth of content?? No.
The best part is, as stated in the weekly update. Its 5 months till the next "update" not dlc! Alllllll of that money made from sterling treasure and they are gonna do just another update.....which will probably be VoG with all primary burn guns taken out or burns taken off.
You don't ask for quality so bungie doesn't have to give it to you. And they won't.
And to those who say "well they are making another game thats why sterling money is so important!".
Great point, their community is in this boat with several holes in it so bungie says "screw it lets build another boat so we can charge them to get on that one but in the meantime, patch 1 or 2 holes so all of them dont drown(quit)..."
Demand quality and they will listen. You are the paying customer and the customer is always right.
what i think is gonna happen is late August they will show off Vog coming back in September. Then in late September they will show the vex dlc for the holiday season. Atheons return.
Edit: a lot of people just say "when you're done play another game". Heres the thing, hardly anyone on this forum has ever said this until urk from bungie tweeted of coarse we want people to play other games. Haha they've taught their fans to be parrots! There the same people that say "if you hate the game so much then leave the forums!". Well if you hate criticism so much why don't you leave the forums?
And finally i understand the thought of play other games, i play other games and so do you, obviously... But if you play this game and it has shit quality with not enough to do, if you just leave, do you expect shit to fix itself? No you come here to tell bungie. And for clarification no one is asking for more content right now, we are simply stating that for the future, it needs more quality and quantity to continue.
As i said to one guy in the comments, destiny took 7 years to make and we had no say so in that game and look how it turned out... With destiny 2 to drop in fall 2017, NOW is the time to tell bungie what you want! Because if the game releases with a bad story, broken servers, bad weapon balance, and its over filling with micro transactions, we will literally be at the beginning of a 3 year cycle with destiny 2 that will have just ended with destiny.

6 RepliesI like the way people think this re skinned content is an update, and NO people it's not FREE.
-
Well like any normal person when you're are bored of this game just go play another. There's a ridiculous amount of games out there to play, you don't have to play one game forever.
-
Wow 'needy' much!! Think you need to temper your expectations and maybe expand your horizons somewhat
-
1 ReplyThere ARE other games you know?
-
1 ReplyEdited by Omnitron310: 4/16/2016 8:38:39 AMThey already confirmed we will be getting another big expansion (so, TTK level DLC) next September. Update is another word for it because these DLCs also tend to bring a bunch of free changes available to all players, hence an update. I agree it's quite a while to wait, but as others have said, just play other games in the meantime. Destiny isn't daycare. It's not required that they keep you entertained 24/7. Do what me and many other like me will do; once you've finished the new content from this update, take a break and wait on the next one. Come back occasionally if you feel like it, for IB or Trials or whatever. It's not an all or nothing thing. You can play a little bit of Destiny each week and spend the majority of your time doing other stuff.
-
It's good to try other games then come back to destiny when you have had enough of them. I was play the division for a bit and it kept me entertained for a few weeks.
-
I know this is going to suck to hear but Destiny is beyond saving. 90% of the people still playing support the things you dislike about Destiny. You just have to move on and let Destiny go forever or let them take your money as well.
-
Hopefully they'll have some good things in store for us over the next 5 months. Maybe bring back Sparrow Racing, or introduce a new PvE event to match it. Anyone ever figure out what "The Dawning" was about?
-
Try playing some other games for a bit;)
-
1 ReplyWtf do you want exactly? Enough content for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, for every month in the year for 10 years? Thats not going to happen. Try buying a new game or 2!

Edited by Frits Flits: 4/16/2016 8:32:23 AMLol this is kinda sad tbh.

You're delusional if you don't think there will be another expansion for year 3. They'll keep making paid expansions as long as the game is profitable, possibly even after Destiny 2 comes out. Everquest came out in the late 90s and got a new expansion in late 2015. It's not like they'll suddenly stop supporting the game when Destiny 2 comes out. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they expect us to continue playing BOTH games, because I don't think our Guardians will transfer to Destiny 2. As for the rest of this year, I expect the Sparrow Racing League to return this Summer probably in June or July and last for 3 weeks like it did before. People want it back and it makes sense to do in the Summer which is usually a time when there's not many new games coming out but people have a lot of free time. Along with SRL 2, there will probably be some more tweaks to weapons (as there always is every 3 to 4 months) and the inevitable Hunter class "balancing". They might finally give us Year 2 versions of Gjallarhorn, Icebreaker, Pocket Infinity & the 2 Raid exotics too. And maybe even year 2 versions of the rest of the Strikes with new drops. Then as mentioned before there's a big expansion for year 3 in the works.

I'm ready

2 RepliesIs destiny the only game you people play? You burn yourselfs out then complain there's nothing to do. You expect bungie to be making content 24/7 for the next 8 years? There working on destiny 2. Go play the plethora of amazing games out and the moment and come back to destiny later, you won't miss much. You do this to yourselves.
-
Update not expansion. Oh no, 5 months....
-
21 RepliesStop saying this update was free lol it was part of the taken king.
-
That's why I'm also playing The Division, Fallout 4, and a few other games here and there. That way, I don't run into the content wall as early as I would if it was the only game I played.
-
2 RepliesIf you only play Destiny to grind for new content and treat destiny like a job, probably best to move on to another game. There are so many good games out there. If you play Destiny because you actually enjoy playing it, then your in the right place. I really don't give a fcuk about a content drought. I just enjoy playing my PvP, with some PvE on the side.
-
Git good in PVP, minmax your chars with your favorite armor sets, collect all the weapons you want. That is what I will be doing. Or play something else. But yeah I expected something like the April update every 3 months and events that match SRL in scope every month when they announced Eververse. And got dammit bungle, new locations? PLZ?

Kings Fall Fo Life.
-
i think those of you who live and die for the game need to get into WoW. destiny just isn't a game that is going to have the kind of content to keep the real couch potatoes going all day
-
Kind of sad they already teased the next batch of content. I think they know the latest free update is garbage.
-
No doubt it's lackluster recycled content, but it's free, and it's a good reason to play again
-
2 RepliesI'm super happy with the update. I've played less than 3 hrs and almost have all Grimoire. Once I've completed that (hopefully under 4 hrs total play time) I'll re-shelve destiny until Fall. Then I'll shelve Division once I get bored of it, probably in two weeks, and I'll get ready for Doom and U4. Then onto my real prize. NMS.
-
Just saying dude but it's a you problem not a them problem. Simple as that they gave us free shit when they could have let the game die until sept and bring on the DLC
-
Edited by cuzzybubba1: 4/16/2016 5:16:59 AMI finished with the update by Thursday and won't play anything but PVP here and there until September. I don't understand why people act like Destiny is the only game on this planet. Division is great and will fill my void from Destiny and Uncharted is next month, Quantum Break just released and so many others out there.
