Has anyone ever used the money made from micro transactions to fund free DLC?
GTA maybe but they're more events I guess.

The content from microtransactions is usually small. Halo gets maps and weapons Destiny gets events and gear and post content updates GTA gets cars and outfits and new gamemodes An actual dlc, or like a legit expansion, with 100's of hours of content will probably never be funded by micros.

Halo 5 is doing now. Has been since launch. I think it also uses micro transactions to supply the prize money for the halo world championships

Doesn't have micro transactions.

Edited by Willa: 4/15/2016 3:45:43 AMMass Effect 3 multiplayer maybe? It had micro transactions and all the DLC was free. Free DLC from a EA published game? Madness. You had to pay for the single player DLC though.

Gta, halo 5, LoL, and I'm pretty sure counter strike have all done it.

Counter strike doesn't really update anything useful and they charge for operations but the maps are free.
