I've told my kids not to allow themselves to be bullied. I've also told them to stand up for themselves even if that means getting in a fight. If it doesn't stop after that, I will have a talk with that child's parents. What that leads to, who knows. But what the need to realize is I will do anything for my kids and I'm not afraid to go to jail.

  • I realize that. But my kids won't become a victim or statistic though because some punk wants to poke fun at one of them. The school they currently attend is under some tough pressure though since recently they had a kid commit suicide from bullying and were aware of the bullying and chose to do nothing.

  • That's important, I understand, but you don't want to go to jail and allow them to lose their father. They need you more than they don't need the bullying.

  • That's true. If it got to the point of me contemplating going to jail or not then it's already gone too far. The school system is far too lenient with bullying. There needs to be more harsh punishment.

  • Couldn't agree more. But the problem there is that teachers can only enforce their rules so much. There will be kids that risk the punishment to bully, and teachers are going to miss it once in a while. It is in those situations that we need to have taught kids how to cope with bullying.

  • Well, I would tend to agree with you, but don't let your fatherly instincts blind you. Going to jail because your kid was bullied in the end is going to hurt them far worse. You have to be there for them too.

let it be said: you don't want to go to jail for your kids. That's just going to make everything worse. I speak from experience.
