I've thought about this myself.
I'm not sure if you meant this or not, but I would only want to see the subclass boost in game if you've already levelled it up. Then it would just make deleting and remaking a character less painful.

I can buy a power up that I can use on another character that will level up it's subclasses to the same point as my most leveled up character. Or the powerup can be for only one of the subclasses. I mean this is just an idea, it can be expanded on. The main point is, leveling up a characters subclass is much more grindy and annoying than having to find gear and get its light level up. At least this way I can enjoy the subclass to its fullest while I'm finding gear. It just takes some unnecessary grinding away so that more time can be spent doing the fun things.
