All the Roman numeral Final Fantasy games are stand alone (unless they have "-2" after it)
The demo is just a dream based off the small amount if info we get from trailers. The demo is not a part of the game

Yep. Combat, story, and worlds are new.

Oh yeah that new combat system is sleek as fuc[u]k[/u] though. I didn't any of the FF's since 7 but I have tried them and this is the first one I'll be buying with the new combat system instead of turn style.
