Sony and Microsoft announced that they are going to allow online mulityayer games, like BO3, to do cross platform gaming with each other on the new gen consoles

Not every game will support it, and it won't be the same experience.. I like looking at game hub leaderboards and things like that

I think like one or two companies have announced that they will do cross platform and I think like two major games will be updated to support it. Honestly I don't mind it but I don't think it will be as successful as they expect it to be. But I do agree with what you said.
