Play side missions until you get to the minimum level for a story mission, then play that. Also, encounters don't give you a lot but doing all of them in an area and all side missions grants an xp bonus at the safe house of that area.

I'm thinking you should go back to playing destiny. The division is to complex for you guys by reading this post. I could give you a full synopsis of power leveling but it would take to long. Just go back to your light levels it's allot easier.

Destiny really doesn't focus on that type of leveling up, the skill comes in other areas. You're implying that the game somehow takes less skill, or that leveling up is a no brainer.. and that's the point. It's straightforward. There are no stats we choose short of agility, armor and recovery. And those are even more straightforward and have a reasonably tiny impact overall. Point is, you're being a redundant twat.
