Because they work like a grenade should work in this game. Just like Incendiary grenades for example. I don't play Defender at all actually. I main a Hunter.

Oh, you had it equipped on your character. That's what I get for assuming. They are like incendiary grenades but the uses are quite different. You go on the offensive with incendiary grenades. The purpose, at least in my opinion, is to shut down a super. Given the speed and range of most supers it doesn't leave much time. Especially on small boards the window is even smaller

Lol, it's fine. I just had it equip for the Sub-Class Emblem quest since there was Mayhem Class this week. You do bring up a good point though. They do have differently utility even though they operate the same way. My main issue with it I guess is that I wouldn't want it to become too powerful. It is already pretty powerful if you time things right... and with a little bit of luck I suppose.
