Imagine what would have happened if they had given it a camera and a mirror!

I work for a tech company that dabbled in the mobile phone industry for a while. When we were in the business, I sent a suggestion to the design teams that the camera have logic in it (or an IR transceiver) that would let the camera "know" when it was pointed at a mirror and would then popup a warning to the user after the photo was taken of "This image was taken in front of a mirror, are you SURE that you want to send it or save it? Other people could get their hands on it." The engineers replied back "why would that be important and what sort of pictures would you want to warn users about?" I then realized that engineers don't see the same parts of the Internet that I do and I let the conversation drop.

That's actually an amazing idea. I wish it was developed/fully developed.

The idea was rendered moot by self-facing cameras and people just spinning the phone around to take a non-mirrored selfie. But I tried to point out (to engineers, probably should have tried parents instead) that low cost, decent quality cameras + mirrors + poor decision making skills of teens = a lot of images that people regret putting "out there".
