I utterly despise what 343 has done with Cortana.
I'm half-expecting the next game to end with an epic space battle between her and a revived Mendicant Bias (found by one of the fireteams), in which John volunteers to go blow her up or something, just so he can see her one last time. Then he redeems her, and they share one last moment together before 343 kills them both and makes Locke and Serena the new stars of the franchise. Also, Forge is only playable with a mouse and keyboard.

Edited by TonyPartridge30: 3/25/2016 3:42:34 PMI would have liked Halo 5 to have kept her dead, and then maybe teased her survival at the end, so that Halo 6 would be about reuniting them in some capacity. But having Cortana come back on the Dark Side right of the bat just ruined all the emotion I felt at the end of Halo 4. Game developers, don't be afraid to go full-George R.R. Stop killing off important characters only to bring them back right after (looking at you, Arkham Knight).

Agreed. They should've just left her dead. It's like they took everything they had set up in Halo 4 and completely erased it, which was a BIG mistake. Halo 4 set up a great plot for the future... Halo 5 fell flat on that part lol.

Edited by Tartan 118: 3/23/2016 2:40:53 PMWell, she was obviously going to come back; she's the second most popular character of the entire franchise. But that arc was both unrealistic and horrible to stomach. The sad part is that it feels like nothing major happened throughout 5. When in fact, Jul 'Mdama was killed, Meridian was destroyed, and now rogue AIs are attacking humanity and forcing Infinity into hiding. So major stuff happened, hell, an entire paradigm shift at the end. 343 just executed it so poorly that nothing felt significant besides the ending. Let's not even mention how void it was for characterisation, especially after 4's fantastic work.

Edited by Onxide: 3/23/2016 4:55:10 PMAt least I'm not the only one that feels that way lol. When I played through the campaign of Halo 5, something just felt very... off. I remember the hype I had built up for the story but when I finally played it, it was just boring. Nothing really made sense at first. Idk if it was just the narrative, but the music and atmosphere were very bland as well. Nothing really "stood out" in it unfortunately. I agree, a LOT of major things happened throughout the story, but for some reason they just didn't feel important...

I also hate the fact that they finished the Didact story in a comic!!! Why was that not in the game or even mentioned!!!!!

Edited by Onxide: 3/24/2016 7:50:36 AMWell he's not finished though lol he's already been confirmed to return in the future. 343 stated that everything that's happened with him so far is just "the first act of a very long story".

I didn't think he was over with just yet, but it was dumb how he was dealt with not in the game.

It's all that dirt bag Brian Reed's idea... I despise that guy...
