Ok here's a real one. Air is free. I have never paid a single penny for air, and I've been breathing it for 32 years.
Ok here's a real one. Air is free. I have never paid a single penny for air, and I've been breathing it for 32 years.
Pretty sure I have to pay to put air in my tires. Pretty sure I can buy cans of compressed air. I mean you could say water is free if you go to a lake, doesn't stop people from having to pay for it.

  • You pay the machine to process the free air. You pay for the can that holds the free air. Air is free. You are paying for mechanisms that provide you with compressed air.

  • Bacteria had to manufacture that oxygen

I never said oxygen. I said air. The atmosphere of the earth is only roughly 21% oxygen 1% argon and 78% nitrogen (the other 1% accounts for other trace elements)

Doesn't have to cost you anything, it has to cost something anything

  • You are playing in semantics. We are making a presupposition based on OPs original text that nothing in life is free. Here is the definition of Free (Miriam Webster) : not costing any money : not held as a slave or prisoner : not physically held by something Only living beings can be slaves or prisoners, so air does not apply. While air can be physical held by something there is an overtly larger majority of it not being physically held, this is the air to which I refer. Finally the air I'm referring to is the air which I have inhaled for 32 years without spending a penny. Given my true statement above, air meets the condition of the definition that applies.

Actually, the air you refer to is the air you've inhaled for 32 years, which means you're referring to air that's been held by you

  • I'm referring to the air before it is held in any medium, and it's equivalent trade value which is 0, thus free. You didn't read the whole post I submitted that testament already.

  • Good edit. Here's my original quote. Primary statement: Air is free. Supplemental statement : I never paid a single penny for air, and I've been breathing it for 32 years. It is true that I have been breathing air for 32 years. It is true I have never paid anything for it. Unfortunately my actions with the air have little/nothing to do with its cost. I could have been storing it, then certainly charging for bottled air. I could have been burning it. I could have done a number of things with the air that was free. None of those things would change the cost of the air when I found it over the past 32 years. I submit to you a test. It will not take long. Let me know your results. Find a penny. Find some air. Use the air, however you like. Let me know how you used it. Do you still have the penny?

  • You may be dead soon. Then again, by all accounts it takes longer than a breath of air to submit a post, so I must assume you are safe and well, without having had to purchase said air.

  • Read other posts. You pay the air machine for the use of its process not the air. Good day sir.

  • Who pays the machine just to watch it run its process? No one, they're paying for the air.

  • Do you really think an air machine creates air?

  • Def not. But it takes money to get the air out.

  • Again you pay money for the work the machine does, not the air itself. You desire to put air into a tight space, such as a tire. You do not have the means to do so, even though there is plenty of free air everywhere. What you pay the air machine to do is suck free air into it, compress the air and speed it through a tight spaces so that it can enter your tire. You have paid nothing for the air itself. You've paid for a mechanical process.
