Check out warframe.
A tenno doesn't [i]need[/i] ground forces when they have arch wings that grant them flight.

I have seen what the Ground forces do in the games. They are not withstanding a Planet blowing up.

.....what ground forces? Grineer? Corpus? Both enemies. The frames themselves? Dear god plenty of them have psuedo or direct invincibility powers as it is. Valkyr. Rhino Wukong Trinity Nyx. Just to name a few.
