Um this isn't a lore error. This doesn't contradict anything. Bungie has their reasons for naming specifically naming things and until you find out why they specifically named those vex praetorians then you have nothing to back up your foolish claim.

They named them praetorians because they guard the VoG and the Vex's dominion on time. This is symbolic because the praetorians kept the Roman emperor alive and as such allowed the empire to live on.
