Personally, I don't agree with making snipers a 3 shot body. Double tapping depletes your ammo pretty quick and you still avoid the follow up shot if you are playing smart. That's just my opinion and I'm sure a lot of you disagree and would like a small nerf to snipers taking them from 2 to 3 body shots for kills. Let me know below what you think. I don't make the decisions but can take your feedback to those who do.

  • The only adjustments snipers need. Aim assist of a maximum 20 No hidden hand perk Scopes should not affect Aim Assist, only zoom and handling. Flinch should be worse when taking damage. Unflinching should keep flinch exactly where it currently is. Have someone with high skill test an Eirene RR4 with snapshot and unflinching for a month. That is as good as any sniper should ever be.

    If they gave the rest of the weapons the buffs this guy is talking about then snipers wouldn't need a nerf. We would have reliable ways of dealing with them while still taking the risk of getting sniped by a good sniper. Buffing something and nerfing the the other thing creates a double negative effect for whatever got nerfed making it useless. Therefore creating posts about something being OP or useless.

  • Getting domed by a sniper in my primary's range (usually a pulse rifle) isn't right as it goes against what a sniper should do. If you could somehow make a sniper more difficult to be used in this way it would help balance I think.

  • How about actually making a headshot a headshot? Ridiculous that someone can just throw up a sniper and Boom its a headshot. Black OPS II has the same BS with snipers. Anyone that knows anything about sniping knows that those shots are impossible at best. Sniping is aiming in on a target and precision shots take time and are not something you should be able to just throw up the gun and headshot at will. While you're at it stop the ice breaker cheaters in trials.

  • I don't know if it's possible , but here's an idea....... 1 - Make it so special and heavy ammo crates spawn in different locations for every ammo crate spawn time in a match. Camping snipers camp near special ammo crates. In every match I play and get taken out by a sniper, he then proceeds to run 3 meters away to pick up the special (it happens way to often). 2 - We can see where the ammo crates spawn at the start of every match (they always spawn at the same locations). The same would happen even with random ammo crate spawns. To counter this you remove the ammo crate hologram + timer countdown. Oh but wait...... We have weapons that regenerate ammo. Penalize players who use these by having 0 ammo on initial spawn, 1 minute to get first round and 30 seconds for every additional round. You die before that first minute is up, timer resets to 0. Add to this that guardians who use ammo regeneration weapons ARE NOT ABLE to pick up special. They should be locked out.

  • Buff primaries and sniping is done. Sniping wasn't a huge problem nor was it over done in yr 1. Why? We had primaries that actually killed.

  • No. 2 body shots is fine. But I do think maybe lower the rate of fire. Most snipers who are worth anything won't mind it. And it'll prevent bodyshots or double tapping a lot of the time. I think that pretty much solves it.

  • I suggest making the zoom of the scope bigger. That way when they zoom in there looking way to far out to be able to react. Making it that you have to des or to get back on target.

    Hey Cozmo, have you ever encountered a team camping in a hall with two snipers hardscoping and a spotter using mida? of course you haven't, then you would know that the body shot damage is not a double tap issue... why would missing a shot from a precision weapon (body shot is the same as missing, isn't it) should be awarded with leaving the other player one mida shot away from death? why should a group team shooting snipers that aren't even trying to get the head should be awarded with such a low-risk/high-reward strategy. Please don't use the ammo argument because if you use the right gear you would get 6 bullets per ammo crate, that's the same as 3 kills if you are just double tapping and by the time you finish your cheap strategy the special ammo crates are up again.

  • Those situations are fun! I switch from my sniper to my molesto and watch them scatter in a hail of purple sparkles. Or I get an awesome triple down.

  • Sure there are situations where that could be useful like throwing a grenade or like you are saying shoot some telesto magic... but most of the times it the two bodyshots happen at the same same or very close to each other and it you die so fast it doesn't give you time to release the grenade/telesto shot.

  • Okay, but they shouldn't do more than the bare minimum damage required to bodyshot. Sniper bodyshots shouldn't do 167 damage, it's that simple. If I get bodyshotted by a sniper it isn't about double tapping but rather that it leaves me immediately vulnerable to literally any form of damage. I could trip on a rock and die after taking a sniper bodyshot, not to mention how easy it is to finish off someone who has taken damage worth only about 1/3 of their SHIELDS. Not total health, just the shields.

  • Just add the descope when hit. That is my main frustration. Snipers should be 2 body shot kills and a one hit precision kill. However a good counter snipe technique and weapon would be mida. If snipers descope when hit then a good scout can compete with a sniper. Forcing the sniper to land a precision shot or be quick enough with a 2 body shot before being hit once with a scout. This would give a primary weapon defense to players trying to counter a sniper.

  • Keep snipers killing in two body shots but make high impact snipers (1kys etc.) shoot slower or lose accuracy on quick follow up shots.
