Honestly there's no way to tell. Bethesda makes huge time skips all the time and the lore is so in depth that anything could happen. Makes it impossible to predict really.

  • Actually, Skyrim is the first TES game with a huge time skip. The events of TES Arena through Oblivion were all within around two decades. It may be more convenient to let enough time pass so they can do what they want with the plot and world building.
