Do you compulsively buy every new video game?
I've a border line obsession about buying every new game, that has positive feedback.
What's the point of buying new games nowadays, when most of the time they're unfinished, have bugs/glitches?
I've noticed that my backlog of games continues to grow. I'll buy a new game, shelf my other games without completing them for months.
Why do we constantly buy new games, is it really necessary? You could wait a few weeks/months after release, buy a more complete product with updates, at a reduced price.
I've had enough of publishers, developers releasing unfinished products, trying to milk us the consumer with inflated release prices.
Do you really need so many new games, or is it the hype machine that makes you purchase a release day game?

1 ReplyFrom some developers that have a really good reputation, i'd have no problem buying them on launch. For example, i have no fear about naughty dog messing up with uncharted. A game like the division can wait a little bit so i can get feedback before i make my decision. That's an example of a game that has my interest, but i'm not 100% sure they can deliver.

1 ReplyI used to, then I started realizing that I was buying more games than what I'll end up playing. I still won't get a chance to play every game I've bought, even though I've stop buying every new release, and they're so really good games too.

I only buy games that interest me a lot day one. My last day one Purchase was Fallout 4, everything after that has been used. The only game i bought day one before that was NBA 2k16 and before that it was the MCC. Otherwise i wait for a price drop, I don't even finish a lot of the games i play.

Majority of you are Liars since most of you can't even legally get a job yet. Birthdays and Christmas for most of you unless your spoiled

I have a problem with sales. If i see a game on sale that ive had any interest jn buying i buy it. I added like 10 games to my collection a few weeks ago and i havent played any of them yet. My backlog is growing while i play bo3 and halo 5

I have had a fair amount of impulse purchases in the last year or two. Before that I was pretty far behind the curve. I've been relatively lucky in avoiding games with any substantial glitches on release. I do have a few that I haven't finished and kind of regret buying. However, based on reviews, I would have bought them regardless. Maybe I should get back into renting.

No way, read and watch a lot of reviews beforehand. The only game I've ever pre ordered was Destiny. I don't regret though, it's fun don't matter how low the ratings were.

This was definitely me as well, buying games immediately if I had any interest at all. I am trying to force myself to slow down now, start to play through some of the backlog, and pick up other games when they're on sale. I'm hoping to hold out for rise of the tomb raider until they have the ps4 release ready and then buy the game with all dlc. Time will tell, but my wallet is happier.

Came to the same conclusion just as I brought my ps4 & got screwed over with destiny I only buy old games now as new ones either look like they should be on a phone or are incomplete so now I wait till £30 or below

2 RepliesNo, I only buy games I want at release. Very rarely do I buy a game at release out of impulse. The last time I did that was Destiny because two friends were getting it at a midnight launch. $140 later...
