Bungie knows exactly what they are doing. They nerf and buff specific guns making the best guns weak and creating a new meta which then causes all the players to have to start over again grinding to acquire these new guns which results in more play time
Everything in this game is calculated to assure maximum play time for each addicted player

Let's dispel with this notion that Bungie doesn't know what they're doing. They know exactly what they're doing.
