We were doing the golgoroth challenge this week and I accidentally made my friend's console freeze. All he saw were a bunch of thrall with one starting to explode! It was hilarious. Lame though we had to wipe.
No Luck in the chamber just a scout with firefly did the trick.

List all the perks on the gun used. I'm willing to bet there was another damage modifier perk on the gun. That would keep it in line with the known cascading memory failure. Only other thing that would keep the problem coherent would be getting a headshot kill while the enemy was tethered or melting pointed, but I doubt that as my group alone has done this multiple times in various settings like raids and nightfalls and strikes.

This^ Ive seen it happen without LiTC I think it has to do with the explosion hitting corpses. Didnt this start after they changed firefly damage so it wasnt as powerful?

Something like that. They intensified the animation for it.
