We've gone through a similar issue with armor perks last year and the whole disappearing heavy ammo on respawns. That took a long time to fix because of how things interacted.
Most likely they need to rewrite the entire damage calculation coding to fix the issue because of the cascading memory failure that results from those two perks interacting.
That's likely millions of lines of code, and they have to make sure any fixes don't have unintended consequences elsewhere. That takes time.
Until then, we know it is an issue, and the easy fix is to not use the one or two guns that have these perks together.

Edited by Durandal: 2/16/2016 2:58:41 AMThat's not the same as the glitch I was talking about. You are having errors that take you out of the game entirely, even if it recovers and brings you back in you are essentially logging back into destiny, and that starts you out without heavy, and sometimes without special. That's just how the game loads you in normally. I was talking about a problem where if you died in pve, especially a raid, you would lose heavy ammo upon respawns. This is the reason why people at bungie don't listen to the feedback forums, the community as a whole really doesn't understand a damn thing.

Oh really captain Smartass maybe your the reason they don't listen because you seem to think you know it all considering that even now in this shit game that's full of errors and bugs people think they know everything but instead of asking bungie to do one thing at a time everyone just puts in their Wishlist and expects it to be done, the real reason bungie doesn't listen is simple this community cannot agree on anything so bungie has no clue what to do because they have tried pleasing everyone and still it gets them nowhere so before you try to act smart actually spend time on here and stand back because you'll need the room as the magnitude of complaints will make your head spin but no one can agree and what to fix first so in reality nothing really gets done

Edited by Durandal: 2/16/2016 3:32:22 AMThat's "captain smartass, sir" to you. But really, don't let your stupid hit you in the ass on the way out. See, I was talking from experience when we went through the fix for the heavy ammo issue, and you chimed in with derp. I'm also talking from the experience of working on coding in a hospital environment daily. When a problem is found that is serious, it still isn't a quick and easy fix. Many times we have to take down the function entirely and wait a while to get it fixed because we have to make sure any fix we make doesn't negatively affect any other function or system when rolled out. This is quite literally why I can end up working 20 hours at a stretch during a 'go live' rollout of any set of updates to the system. And that is still with some systems kept offline because of issues we are still fixing, as well as older software we have taken down because it doesn't play well with new systems, no matter how much certain doctors or other clients clamor for wanting that older program or app or system back. There is a simpler solution for now: don't use the stupid fricken gun until they do get a fix out. But apparently that is too damn hard for people, so maybe bungie should just remove those perks entirely until they can fix the issue since the community is too damn stupid to not use those guns for now.

Sweetheart, we left "quick fix" at the bus stop 5 months ago. For a company with Bungies resources and expertise, this bug should have been fixed. "Dont use it" is NOT a valid reply. What if it was a headshot bug instead? You going to tell your entire playerbase to stop shooting things in the head for half a year because its too tricky to fix?

Hey sugartits. I work for a major hospital with a few hundred people at my disposal for programming fixes, we have features that have been down for a year or removed completely because of issues with coding and incompatibility. And we are in a far more intense environment than gaming. But, keep up the ignorant thinking that anything can be fixed by a few binge sessions of coding while slamming monster energy drinks and some weird montage music happening in the background.

You should be replaced by someone competent. People are paying top dollar for thier healthcare, maybe you should spend more time fixing your mistakes, less time pretending you are important on gaming forums.

Well now captain I was going to apologise simply due to that fact that I was taking my stress of the game and aiming it at you for that I am sorry. Now I don't know what it's like to code things I'm not that tech savy my mates brother who has recently graduated from IT top of his class specialising in games development is now I know what you might think that because he has only just graduated he has no real experience as of yet but he is undoubtably the most tech savy bloke I know and even he has been saying that the problems bungie is facing and has been facing could probably be solved if they took the advice of the top MMO developers and in doing so would eliminate quite a few current issues that have plagued this game from the start. But as for your job good on you your helping the community me personally I'm a single father of two boys while I have 100% percent of the time so I know what it's like to work from the moment you open your eyes again I am sorry I snapped and just aimed it at you this game can just be extremely frustrating at times especially after all the crap that happened in year 1
