In the more extreme styles of metal, gutturals, squeals, growls and shit like that are used. Not screaming. Screamo on the other hand - as the name would imply, has actual screaming with little to no use of the other vocal techniques.

Again, they aren't comparable. Two completely different styles. One - a sub-genre of metal, the other a sub-genre of hardcore... You might as well be comparing meats with fruits.

Which one is objectively better. I prefer meat over fruit. Tastes better. Of course, some people prefer fruit over meat. Not to say fruit is bad, but personally i prefer meat. This post is an appeal to the masses. A 2nd opinion to settle a pointless argument.

There's rarely any instances of "objectively better" being an actual thing, it's just a nonsensical phrase people like to shit out to make themselves feel smarter or anything else along those lines. Shit always comes down to personal preference and taste. De gustibus non disputandum est. I don't like screamo - hate it in fact and for more reasons than just one - but I'm not going to sit here and say it's [i]"bad"[/i] or that Death metal is [i]"good"[/i] or [i]"better"[/i] 'cause I like it and ultimately that's all it ever comes down to with shit like this. What we like and don't like. I've yet to hear or read someone explain how something subjective can be objectively good or bad and I've a strong feeling I never will.
