It would make more sense to utilize the time dilation effect present at relativistic speeds because humans cannot withstand that kind of gravitational force. Or we could just invent a warp drive and move spacetime [i]around[/i] us a lá wormholes.

Unfortunately, the problem that arises with such a machine is that the effects on the human body from high amounts of gravity haven't been documented. If it is lethal or caused crippling ailments, what steps could we take to reduce or mitigate such negative effects?

Well it's not exactly theoretical. Gravity has been confirmed to warp space time through the detection of the waves emitted by the collision. Such a machine however is definitely hypothetical as of today.
