• It's not "free". He plans to allocate taxes to paying for the extended education of young Americans. More educated people return more to society on average, it'll improve the country as a whole in the long run.

  • Tuition free college is not only the standard for every single developed European country, but is easily achievable through cuts in military spending and Wall Street speculation. It's the most effective way of fostering a more educated population, and is long overdue in America where we are 40th in math, 29th in reading, and 32nd in science globally. In civilized European democracies(where the standard of living and GDP is on average higher than the U.S.) Bernie would be seen as center moderate on his policies given America's rightward shift where anything non-conservative is seen a far left fantasy. It's time to join the political revolution. #feelthebern

  • We have way more people than them These little socialist programs work better in small countries. They do not work in large countries like the US which also happens to have a laziness problem. Socialism will never work here. Oh and about your stats. When you divide the races white americans score in the top 5 in the world on testing. Its blacks and mexicans that drag our scores WAY DOWN. Oh but thats probably too harsh of a truth for a dumbass liberal like yourself
We have way more people than them These little socialist programs work better in small countries. They do not work in large countries like the US which also happens to have a laziness problem. Socialism will never work here.
Absolutely not true, very sad to see you take the "population is too big" cop-out. The programs we are talking about can easily be adjusted proportionally to account for America's population, again Wall Street speculation alone would significantly decrease the cost and smart budget cuts, investment, and spending would eliminate the need for public colleges to have tuition. Also enough of this "laziness" scapegoat, the labor force in America is around the same percentage-wise when compared to other developed countries and unemployment is certainly under control. Besides saying socialism will never work in America is ridiculous because we already have a plethora of socialist programs that work great: Fire departments, Police, Social Security, etc.
Oh and about your stats. When you divide the races white americans score in the top 5 in the world on testing. Its blacks and mexicans that drag our scores WAY DOWN. Oh but thats probably too harsh of a truth for a dumbass liberal like yourself
Could you provide a source for this please?(I've never seen it nor heard of it) Also, really? You're going to resort to name-calling and childish ad-hominem for disagreeing, c'mon that accomplishes nothing.

  • free college is retarded. If we wanted to make degrees mandatory then why not restructure our school system entirely to give students an associates and diploma upon 12th grade completion.

  •
free college is retarded.
Oh boy.
If we wanted to make degrees mandatory then why not restructure our school system entirely to give students an associates and diploma upon 12th grade completion.
The obvious problem with your shell of an argument is that you're equating tuition-free college with mandatory degrees, which is absolutely ridiculous. The choice to pursue a college education is still totally optional, no one would be forcing you to attend college against your will. However if you do make the choice to do so, you won't have to worry about staggering amounts of debt and financial troubles when doing so.

  • you obviously dont understand the economy soo... 1) Free tuition. This means you pay very very little for college. 2) If college is so cheap, employers (businesses) will EXPECT you to have the most basic degree beforehand, regardless of the actual job position. So while it is optional, it really isnt if you intend to compete for job openings. 3) This is hardly a shell of an argument considering your only rebuttal was "its just easier college without tuition, nobody requires a degree". Try arguing again with a legitimate point.

So please elaborate on it.

Your argument is that tuition-free college is 'retarded' (so eloquently put) and you have so far done nothing to support that claim or substantiate it with even an echo of evidence. What you have done is: 1) Shamelessly claim I am uneducated in economics without knowing my credentials or experience. 2) Claim that tuition-free college would create a negative stigma or otherwise make obtaining jobs harder for those who choose not to attend despite the fact that our society already does so today. Obviously the idea is to incentivize the population to actively encourage participation in the work force and the economy, not vice versa. A more educated labor force is a more productive one. 3) Ramble about how my argument is unrefined while you have done little if anything to strengthen yours (which it desperately needs). Here is some tangible and consistent PROOF (something your case lacks) that tuition-free college works and is better than the system in place today: http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/33473-why-tuition-free-college-makes-sense http://www.valuecolleges.com/collegecosts/ http://www.collegerank.net/tuition-free-college/ http://thebernreport.com/point-for-sanders-why-tuition-free-college-works-better-than-equal-burden-college/

  • so you mostly just proved my point by giving evidence of a required higher education. If we restructured the k-12 system like i suggested then we would have the same education in less time, all while maintaining the same cost for government programs. Read your article and my response thoroughly before commenting like a dipshit. Reducing tuition is one thing, but making it free (like the last article says, which means tens of thousands of dollars per student) is an extreme cost to whatever government is responsible for it. The problem with tuition rates is that the universities can so easily increase the rates because the government is willing to match them. What really needs to happen is the damn institutes need to be regulated, since they are effectively a massive nation wide monopoly. As for "strengthening my case", this is all just common sense, and if you need some biased opinionated article to prove a point then there isnt much to discuss since youre not using practical knowledge.
