Whats the objective of this game? Just curious, never played but might try it out

The objective is basically to survive as a lone pilot and make your name known in the milky way galaxy, however you can. The game is essentially a space civilization simulator. You could stay in the safety of colonized space and make money as a humble trader or miner. You could take up arms and defend the stars as a bounty hunter. You could live as a pirate, taking what you want from whoever you want. You could even explore the vast unknown that is uncivilized space in our solar system, and sell your exploration data upon your return. This is just a brief explanation of what you can do in the game. It isn't a game that all people enjoy. But it is a very in-depth experience. And it is definitely the most immerserve space civilization game ever made.

Damn sounds awesome. I know this is a dumb question, but is it multiplayer? Lol

Yes, though is a bit of a tricky one. All players play on 1 constant server, though with different instances.however the size of the game is on a 1:1 scale of the milky way galaxy, with over 200 billion solar systems. Civilized space is only about 1/10,000th of that, give or tske, but that's still thousands of systems that most players are spread across. You will see a fair amount of players, but it won't be constant. You can join up in "wings" of up to 4 players to play with others, and travel to each other's locations, so there is an easy cooperative mechanic. Wings make every job easier and/or more profitable, so it could be advantageous to wing up with others. If all you want is some PvP action, there is a dogfighter PvP mode. Just a ton of players in a variety of ships blasting each other out of the sky. Your piloting skills mean everything (and piloting in ED is a huge challenge early on. The game uses actual space physics, and requires of you a fair bit of multitasking). Its not too profitable but it is certainly fun, and a good way to train yourself. If you want, you can download the 1 hour demo. It gives you enough time to run through some of the tutorials and see what your immediate thoughts of it are.

Yea Im definitely gonna try it out. Thanks for all the info (:

I tried it and it's pretty much fly around and make money and do it again. I didn't have much fun doing it but I know a lot of people are really into it, almost as much as destiny

Is there any combat? Or do you just fly around and explore?

He's kind of right. The truth is that there are so many ways to make money (some of them more profitable than others) it's stupid. Bounty hunting, mining, joining the military, trading, smuggling, pirating, it's all there, and it's all completely based on how you outfit your ship. No levels, or ranks. Huge learning curve, huge world, huge fun.

Yes, the primary ways of making money is trading goods and bounty hunting
