How will The Division Microtransactions affect the gameplay?
I thought it was just appearence options...also don't most MMOs have impacted microtransactions anyways?

Initially it was said that it would be cosmetic only nut then they began being vague when answering about that. Now you get a gun (shotgun maybe) on getting the season pass so idk. Im not sure if most mmo has game impacting microtransactions because I stay away from thay

I mean, Destiny did the same thing with pre orders and day one purchases.

Yeah, you get a gun (assault rifle) if you pre-order the game. It won't be a "über-awsome-Immaoneshoteverything" kind of gun, propbably something you'll swap out before you hit lvl 10, so very gamechanging? No, not really. Apart from those pre-order guns, there is nothing. Microtransactions after launch will be cosmetic items. Which they have stated time and time again, so it'll be like R6: Siege. Not affecting gameplay in any way or form. They're actually doing the "right" form of microtransactions here, which I'm personally really happy to see.. also really enjoyed the beta and with some tweaking with graphics on PC, the game does looks damn nice.
