Bungie: hey guys here is a free event that can give you new loot and a new game mode. Community: this is shit, we haven't played it yet but it lazy!
-
Edited by KitsuneSonow: 1/29/2016 11:22:34 PMMore like: Bungie: Yeah we can do the bare minimum now because these fanboys will eat it up and continue to throw money at the screen just like we predicted. Note: No one is complaining about them giving free content, but the content they are giving is quite lacking.
-
Bungie made a free update, and the community complained before they have even played it. I am ok with complaining, just not before they even get it
-
Maybe because they blatantly advertized more transactions and the "Event" is just an altered gametype that is going away within a couple of weeks and not to mention there is still nothing for PVE players.
-
Optional transactions that do nothing but make you look different. And a game mode that you'd don't need to play, but will be a fun tho g to try. As for PVE, I do agree another queens wrath like event would be nice
-
They may do nothing, but by people purchasing them it's letting Bungie know that they can continue doing the bare -blam!-ing minimum and get away with it. I guarantee if no one gave into this stupid event or bought anything from Eververse ever again they would change their attitudes real fast. But that will never happen because of people like you who think everything they do is a-ok.
-
Because what they do is ok, they pump out content and I can have the option to pay for cosmetic items. I am fine with it and intelligent mature players are fine wth this too
-
How is this ok? They are literately just putting out a tweaked game mode and that is it, no new maps and no new PVE activities. There have been free to play games with hardly any budget that have put out better events than this and treated their player base with much more respect. Also, you and the others like you are no where near intelligent or mature, if you were you would know when games start doing this kind of thing it just goes downhill from there. You can say it doesn't affect anything, but the micro-transactions have just gotten worse sense they introduced emotes ($40 for a level up pack in case you forgot). Sure you don't have to buy, but, like most companies in the past, they don't look at who didn't buy it, only who does, and every time more and more things start having price tags slapped on and the company puts out even more shallow updates and expansions until the game finally shuts down, and since destiny has a 10 year contract we still got 8 years and a good few months of it getting worse. There have been things that the fans of this game have been asking for since the games release and they have went entirely unnoticed, but instead of the "live team" picking up on these things and trying to implement what they players really want they listen to people like you who will happily throw money at the screen and choke down everything that is given to you. But, you seem to think it's ok to for Bungie to release shallow, worthless events and constantly put out micro-transactions instead of updates that people really want so I honestly have nothing more to say to you. Enjoy Destiny when it's just a husk of itself and everything has price tag on it the future.

You say people like me are what is wrong with the game. But it is people like you, self entitled brats who demand that free content should include new maps, modes guns and more. Bungie is a business, so it is run as such. These small events are used to keep the spoilt player base occupied until the big update that is coming or until destiny two. Some games don't even do these small events and no one complains about them, but since destiny does and has such a awful community it gets crucified for engaging with the player base. And you talk about the developers giving you respect, you are such a sheltered child. They make small jokes at our expense and you cry. The mature players find these jokes funny and see the updates and events as Bungie respecting the loyal fan base

How do people keep defending Bungievisions practices? Please stop. People simply want good content that stays in the game. Why is that too much to ask? You must be so knee deep in silver you can't change your ways.
-
They are adding content to the game, and people are already hating on it so there is nothing about taking away content. So I don't see why you made your argument, The people at Bungie are working hard to make updates, but each one is just torn apart. Halloween event was stupid, but was completely optional, SRL was stupid even through people asked for it. And now this valentines event that we don't even know all the details for is too small?
-
They add content and then remove it by making it a timed event. Even you see the trend in the recent additions so idk why you're defending it.
-
They remove it so it isn't burnt out. Bungie has done something that companies like EA could only dream of. Made a game so addictive even the people that "hate it" can't stop playing it. But this has a downside, players clock in hours and hours of gameplay each day, burning up content that no developer could compensate for. So timed events are used to give you a taste of something, but not burn yourself out on it. For example, SRL was a test, two maps for a few weeks to see how people liked it. I loved others hated it. But now Bungie can look at the numbers and see if it is worth fleshing out, they could make it a whole new game mode with an array of maps, or make it like iron banner so that people can't burn them selves out on it
-
Same here....I defended the hell out of Bungie all of year one and little bit of TTK, but what Bungie is doing to the game now I honestly can't defend them any more.

/clap You have seen the light.
