You go into any legal tattoo place and they'll have signs up and say specifically that any person wanting a tattoo must be 18 or over. You might be thinking of piercings and 16 or over...

I don't know where you live buddy but if your parent sings off on you getting a tattoo, it's legal. I went to a nice establishment to get mine when I was 16.

U.K. And if you want it done legally then you have to be 18 cuz otherwise you might get away with it but the artist will get into some serious shit - something like a huge fine alongside losing their licence at the least. But looking around I've found that some places in certain states in America might allow it with a proven parent or guardian there at the time of the work - doesn't necessarily mean it's all legal however...

Yeah well I live in one of the state's that allows you to get one with parents consent. I'm pretty sure of the tattoo is done at a tattoo shop, it's legal, or at least, I've never seen an illegal tattoo shop haha

Very true I figure they'd likely be in some back street alley or something but yeah the place might be legal and licensed but it doesn't necessarily mean that what they do with regards to tattooing a minor is legal just because the parent has given permission and is there for the process... So if anything, just to make sure things don't go wrong and it ends up being the artist getting screwed over - if you [i]really[/i] want to get tats I'm sure you can wait that extra year or two...
