I will quit whenever the hell I want. You can suck it if you don't like it. You and your draconian "consequences" can go take a flying leap. Of all the things wrong with this game, of all the issues that should be resolved, you pick something as inconsequential as this to harp on.
Man, oh man. Talk about screwed up priorities.

-
It is inconsequential when you put it in the context of what is actually wrong with this game. Would you rather have players quit or do next to nothing instead of quitting? I farmed the last Iron Banner after hitting rank 5. I camped in a corner and pulled the trigger every minute or so to keep from getting booted for going AFK. That would be my answer to the Halo system.

-
In a system with shitty RNG rewards, this much lag, cheaters, and a dev team that is either this incompetent or this understaffed, farming Iron Banner is all the respect and effort this game deserves. But, hey, if you'd rather players go camp in a corner instead of quitting than that's your prerogative.
-
An addition, no matter how small to a problem, still compounds the problem. It's part of what people are worrying about, so I'd say it should be included in the conversation and have proper repercussions to deal with quitters.
-
Solutions take manpower, manpower costs money. No way should manpower being used on this. These "consequences" should be icing on the cake after real problems are dealt with.
-
Hmmm. Interesting response. Good points as well. I will resort to a polite disagreement though, as I have found that having people leave matches has turned wins to losses more than the opposite, in my experience.
-
I'd rather have somebody leave than go camp in a corner. I can't even imagine the coding that would go into deciphering a "quit" from a "lagged out" or "disconnection." It almost seems like it'd have to be a one size fits all, and that seems awful.
-
Lol especially with the amount of red bars that are encountered. bungies wouldn't stop a large amount of players to feed off of.
-
There are more pressing matters in this game though. You are right in that aspect for sure.
-
How am I supposed to reply to this? You troll and insult me for having a thought and opinion? It's OK if you don't agree but you no right or reason to start insulting. It's a major problem in these forums. Reported for Disrespect and Harassment.
-
Dude, report me. Have all your buddies report me. Mute me. I don't care. Your thoughts and opinions are heavy handed at best and draconian at worst. What you want will encourage players to go AFK or do next to nothing instead of leaving. Wouldn't you rather have a new player in there who wants to play? Fine, implement your changes and watch the player base do exactly what I said. You should want players to leave your match if they don't want to be there. Seriously, think further than two steps in front of you.
-
THey can leave if they want. But if your going to be a quitter then learn to deal with the consequence of what it means to be a quitter. What's wrong with encouraging people to be better players and better people? Quitting mid match is paramount to a child throwing a tantrum. Bungie is the parent that's gives then their way for throwing the tantrum. Instead why not give the choice of: Leave but you lose your gains OR tough it out and learn from the loss. That's not draconian that's real life. Why are you afraid of consequences?
-
Consequences in a video game world that stem from NOT cheating, got it. Okay, fine. I won't quit. I just won't help either. I'll go sit in a corner and make you play a man short. Okay, what's your solution to that? You should want me to quit. Seriously, man.

Something that people have been calling for since year 2. Kick vote system. No consequences for getting kicked.

Edited by X-LoganX: 1/25/2016 7:35:36 PMDude it's just an idea man. Stop blowing a testicle on it. An idea is meant to be talked about and perfected before it's implemented. Seems like you have all the answers thiugh so I'll just leave you to it.
-
My answer is that this isn't a priority. If Bungie wants to reexamine this later, once they've fixed actual problems with the game, then whatever. I don't give a shit if people quit. I'd rather they quit than be a hindrance. But, I also think people should be left alone to play how they want, short of cheating.
-
You should have lead with this answer instead of insulting me to start. This is a fine opinion and at least gives me an idea of how your thinking about it.
-
I'm sorry, but there are too many people here with bad ideas and harmful opinions. What you stated in your OP is harmful. I take back nothing I said. Sometimes bad ideas need to be called out and patronized. The only thing I apologize for is that you got upset about it.
-
I have no issues with being called out. That's part of discussion and debate. It keeps the discussion going. Just keep it civil and leave the insults at the door. You made a stronger case for your opinion when you cooled off and just talked about it.
-
The bad ideas in the forums are infectious and have to be fought aggressively. Just because you stated bad ideas with a level head, doesn't mean your ideas shouldn't be fought aggressively. You aren't the first person to encourage harsh "consequences" for quitters. It becomes redundant and obnoxious. It's also a view that screams of self-centeredness and short-sightedness. My answer to these types of ideas is always, "Fine, I'll go sent in a corner and do nothing instead of quitting." Once again, my only apology is that you got upset about this.
-
It's totally fine to have an aggressive stance on something. But there's a difference between aggressive and hostile. You were bordering on the latter and hence my initial reaction. I do understand where your coming from and I have no problem letting your opinion stand. Hopefully others will weight in too.
-
I was intentionally being hostile because harmful ideas can't be left to diplomacy. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
-
You too. 1 final thought though. Hostility doesn't make you look smart, insightful, or thought provoking. It just makes you look hostile and people will respond in kind.
