Open World Bosses. I'm talking Raid-level, with Raid-level gear, weapons and other goodies. That'll bring everyone together, and it won't take forever to develop the Boss Arena. They'll just use a predesignated Patrol zone and make a unique fight mechanic to that area. Would be dope.

Court of Oryx failed by being nothing but an Engram Farm with lower light levels for guaranteed drops like Artifacts. It was doomed to fail by the time the Raid was released. By its very design, it was nothing but a more grind-based form of Patrol Events. If they had spread the potential for gearing up through Court of Oryx indefinitely, you'd see Guardians flocking there to take a chance at getting good loot. Having given these Bosses unique loot like the Strikes would've immeasurably helped the success of Court of Oryx. Instead they left the idea as it was, since it wasn't expected to replace their general layout for Planet-based Patrols anyways. It was probably just their answer to making Patrol Event Bounty Bosses inside the Dreadnought, since they probably forgot to put them anywhere else. With slightly better loot than most Bosses to try and give Year 2 a more rewarding feel, despite the triple RNG barrier persisting inside of Destiny.

  • Bump, I'd be down for that dude! Or at least a high level strike boss, or something that could be considered a world boss

It needs to remain rewarding into the endgame, so at least Y1* Nightfall Strike level. Perhaps they could throw in modifiers instead of actual mechanics for earlier prototypes of 'Open World Bosses.' The important thing is that they present an obvious challenge for an equal reward. Not a lesser reward. This idea of rewarding players with budgeted loot makes no sense. It's not like the real world, where paying someone for a job comes at some sort of cost. These things are literally free; Bungie needs to learn how to be more generous.

  • I couldn't agree more man. The rewards for most activities aren't good at all. I don't think Bungie understand how an MMO works. Saying that though, they don't consider Destiny to be an MMO, its an 'open world shooter' as they called it so its not going to be similar to say WoW or SWTOR in any way at all because they're not bothering to appeal to the fans who want stuff like that.
