He was great at what he did, and what he did wasn't that nice. On a stakeout operation he was betrayed and killed by his partners. Filled with anger and revenge in his last moments, this peaked the interest of Satan himself. After making a deal with the Devil, Skulduggery came back to a new, strange world. This new police force was spineless, and he was disgusted by it. So now he acts as a hand of the Devil, taking down scum at his own terms.
