That info is false. You can die during the raid on a character. You just start over.

Well, this is definitely bugged then. I went back after hearing others claim what you say and restarted my XBOX One. That didn't work so I solo'd Crota's End flawlessly last night (again) and still didn't get the achievement. What really blows my mind is that I saw the achievement pop up for my buddy since he was sitting next to me on another console so apparently it's only bugged for my account. I have no idea why it didn't unlock, but it definitely is an issue.
