Cosmetic skins only. Not at all like bo3, Destiny, halo 5, and every other cash grab. It's a joke that cosmetic skins would be your breaking point. How much silver you buy in Destiny?

Actually, you could pay to unlock other monsters and hunters early, and due to balance issues, it meant that you were paying for a competitive advantage early on.
-
You couldn't play monsters or hunters early. You still had to pay for them, yes, but no one got them "early". They also took care to make sure the new monsters and hunters weren't overpowered and we're still in line with the original.

This may be a while after release. I was able to experience the game directly after launch. People were able to buy Banshee (I think that was the name) and begin using it while other people were stuck with some of the less powerful hunters. I don't know how much has changed after launch though, because I didn't care all too much at that point.

You've never been able to buy the original monsters to get them quicker. You might be referring to the beta, where if you preordered they allowed you to play as the entire selection that would be available at launch and not the 3 pre selected.
-
I don't know what it was, but I distinctly remember someone playing as Banshee very shortly after launch. Given how much time progression takes, it wasn't from them just playing a lot.

You could also level up your hunters by useing their mobile game app for free. Leveled up and unlocked hunters quick. My point was anybody playing any of the games I mentioned, can't call comsmetics, a deal breaker .
