They warned us that certain items and activities could potentially become obsolete as time progresses on. The vanguard/crucible marks were changed to legendary marks after TTK. They had everything covered in their update notes. Really no sense in getting upset over that.

It's impossible to get Legendary Marks without the dlc.

I echo ThundaDevil, you can get 3 Legendary Marks every time you dismantle a TTK legendary weapon or Armour. I have upwards to 200 marks just from dismantling all the crap TTK legendaries I have gotten. It only seems like it will take a long time, but in reality it goes really fast... Toss in a couple of Daily Heroic and even more. Get those DLCs added and roll with the punches that Bungie dealt us like we all did.

I think you fellows missed the part where I said I couldn't even get the update in, so I couldn't even download the dlc if I had bought it

You still can get faction packages without owning TTK.
