Damage Over Time. This refers to Thorn's most hated (or fun if you're the shooter) perk. The weapon shoots poisoned darts that slowly eat away at your health.

If this was taken off the thorn would it be as useful as last word say? I get killed so many times in crucible with this. Why does no one complain about this, it seems 2 shots and I'm dead? And from range that I would say is auto rifle range.

It's a three shots to the body kill. The perk is what makes it an exotic - things are much more balanced with Thorn now than they were a few months ago.
