No. Each planet has assassination mission. You need to do that mission to unlock next planet. Every planet has assassination mission to unlock the next planet.

How long do you think it'd take until I could get to Jupiter?

It'll be difficult because you would have under leveled character. I advise you to ask someone to be with you. Preferably maxed out everything. I don't recall how many planets before Jupiter. Because there were two lines of planets. Not sure which one leads to Jupiter.
