Does anyone remember bungie in halo 2/3 days? "7 steps to world domination"??? What happens every time they do a weapon balancing? EVERYONE uses the guns that they balance favorably. It used to be suros, then last word, then red death, now mida. They are controlling the actions of those who play the game by making the guns they want us to use OP and the ones they don't broken. I've seen it from the beginning. I might suck at crucible, but I'm no pawn.

  • Halo was always FAR more balanced than this game. And that's why the MP is considered competitive. Because in a game that has very good balance, it's hard to rise above the others playing. To where with Destiny, it's a constant shift of 2-3 go to weapons that everyone feels the need to use to do anything in the game. That is not competitive seeing that you're supposed to build your own load out according to your play style, but instead (for most) feel like you have to use a certain weapon every few months just to compete. I, personally, don't stick to the metas. I play my own way, which sucks at times because it seems like my guns don't do jack shit against others. But what pisses me off now, is that everyone is using the weapon that I've loved since before everyone was still scrapping it in year one. The Mida. It's always been a favorite of mine, and is in no way OP, but since so many people are using it now because it's one of the last truly balanced weapons left, Bungie is going to smack it down. Not because it's OP, but because it's used too much. Same with snipers. Snipers haven't changed since release. But since people cried for every other weapon type to be nerfed, it's the sniper's turn to shine. They are not OP. They never have been OP. People somehow don't realize that when you cry nerf against every other weapon type but one and get that nerf, the meta is going to shift to the weapon type that wasn't touched, thus making it seem like it's OP, when in reality, it's the others that are underpowered. And this is why Bungie needs to start focusing on specific weapon balancing instead of blanket nerfs across the whole game.

  • Halo is a poor comparison since most of the "nerfs" were either intended to stop people from GunGlitching (BXR) or to make the weapons function more realistically (Shotties/Sword getting a range reduction and a spread increase). Then again, I was like 10 when Halo 2 came out, so weapon balance was the least of my concerns
