I kind of find it funny that the 2 things you hate the most are both things that people really loved about the game. Even in the midst of all of the complaining and ridicule the game received when it first came out, both of those points were generally received quite positively.

Lolwut. Those were the universally worst points of the game when it came out. People hated playing as the Arbiter, so much so that they removed him as a playable character in 3, and the move from Health Packs alienated most competitive players at the time.

I agree the healthpacks were iffy at firsr, but eventually everyone came to vastly prefer health regen not long after. As for arbiter, his entire questline was enjoyed. People loved how it expanded upon the universe. There were some issues with how it was split. People disliked chief not having as much screen time because of it. But the actual existence as elites as playable and especially the expansion of the covenant from their point of view was received quite well.

Were you on the forums at that time? They were filled with how terrible the Arbiter was and how stupid the split campaign was.
